Goodbye, iSaloni 2014 – the final digest

No dobra, koniec tego dobrego! Koniec świątecznej (i dłużej) przerwy, koniec też z tematem tegorocznego Milan Design Week, z iSaloni w roli głównej. Czas na wnioski i inne uwagi.

Enough is enough! Enough with the holiday break (and more…), enough with remembering Milan Design Week and iSaloni. It’s the summary time.

Po pierwsze, iSaloni to niezwykłe przeżycie estetyczne, kontakt z designem z najwyższej półki. Londyn to vintage i kreatywność (Boże, chroń królową!), Frankfurt to bezpieczeństwo i praktyczność, zaś Mediolan to luksus i glamour. Mniej więcej tak to widzę. No wiecie, nigdzie indziej, a w Mediolanie właśnie, ot tak, nonszalancko i po prostu szłam ramię w ramię z Roberto Cavallim, a potem czule głaskałam komodę „Mondrian White” Boca do Lobo za mniej więcej jedyne 22 tysiące dolarów…

Ciekawe jednak, że choć Frankurt, Londyn i Mediolan to w sumie różne bieguny (ale wszystkie wysokiej klasy!), trendy pokazane na 100% Design i Ambiente dało się zauważyć na iSaloni.

Już samo wejście na teren targów jest imponujące; to pasaż z bramkami do kolejnych hal wystawowych. Pod szklanym dachem kryją się konstrukcje przypominające kroczące maszyny AT-AT z „Imperium kontratakuje”. Skojarzenie w sumie słuszne, ponieważ właśnie tędy wiedzie droga do przyszłości wnętrz i designu na najbliższe miesiące.

First of all, iSaloni stands for extraordinary esthetic experiences; for the contact with design of the highest quality. Let me put it this way: London is rather vintage and inventive (God, save the Queen!), Frankfurt is rather practical and safe but Milan is luxury and glamorous. At least I see it this way. Well, you know, is there any other place where I could walk abreast, just like that, with Roberto Cavalli and then caress the Boca do Lobo „White Mondrian” sideboard for $ 22 000, more or less…?

However, the interesting thing is that – as Frankfurt, London and Milan are quite different design poles (all of them – high class) – you could notice at iSaloni trends featured at 100% Design and Ambiente.

The story begins with the impressive passageway with gates to exibition halls. The glass roof hides metal constructions looking like walking AT-AT machines in „The Empire strikes back”. The association is quite good because this is the road to the future of interior and design for the next few months.

Co widziałam w Mediolanie? Widziałam wygodę, motywy zaczerpnięte z przyrody, materiały naturalne i pastele, a jednocześnie błysk, blask i połysk oraz kontrastowe barwy.

Roche Bobois stanowczo należy do tej pierwszej kategorii. To przede wszystkim rozmiar XXXL – arcycudowne wielkie kanapy, regały z rozmachem od sufitu do podłogi, szklane naczynia o pojemności jeziora (swoją drogą, były ozdobione spławikami; genialne!) i nieco mniejsza, ale równie ciekawa ceramika, wzorniczo nawiązująca do prehistorii, a przynajmniej antyku. Roche Bobois to luksus w bardzo przyjaznym wydaniu.

What did I see in Milan? I saw comfort, natural motifs and materials, pastels but on the other hand – glamour, glitter, shining and contrasting colors. 

Roche Bobois definitely belongs to the first group. It stands for the XXXL size with its archwonderful huge couches, bookshelves with a range from the floor to the ceiling, glass vessels able to contain a whole lake (BTW: they were decorated with fishing floats. Brilliant!) and smaller but equally interesting ceramics harking back to the prehistory or at least the antiquity. Roche Bobois is a very friendly luxury.

Wygoda, natura, ekologia, szukanie wytchnienia były bardzo wyraźnie widoczne. Zmęczony technologią i wiecznym pośpiechem użytkownik dostanie więc duże przytulne kanapy i fotele, będzie otoczony zielenią i ciepłymi materiałami o grubych splotach. Odetchnie też Matka Ziemia dzięki modzie na recycling i meble na przykład z tektury.

Comfort, nature, ecology and chillout were very visible at the fair. Consumers, tired with technology and the constant rush, got big cozy couches and chairs, a lot of green, warm and thickly braided textiles. Mother Earth was also relieved with recycling and furniture made of cardboard, for example.

Nową, bardzo trendy twarz pokazał poczciwy Tolix, ubierając swe klasyczny industrialne krzesła w pastele oraz przedstawiając wariant o łagodnych kształtach.

Tolix showed its new and very trendy face. The classic industrial chairs wore pastels and got soft shapes in one of their models.

No i grupa druga – luksus i glamour, brak ograniczeń. Koronnym przykładem niech będzie moje ulubione Boca do Lobo. No cóż, mam słabość do tych projektów, będących doskonałą kompozycją przepychu i awangardy. Ręczne wykończenie oraz wyjątkowe materiały sprawiają, że obiekty te swobodnie zastępują dzieła sztuki, bo same nimi są.

And the second group – luxury and glamour with no boundaries. Let my favourite Boca do Lobo be the crown jewel here. I’m very fond of the projects which are a perfect blend of splendor and avant-garde. Handcrafted finishing and unique materials make the objects works of art themselves.

Dla zakochanych w luksusowej wygodzie lub przygodzie (właściwe podkreślić) odpowiednie też będą propozycje od Cedrimartini,

The lovers of luxurious adventures or the adventurous luxury (pick the right one) will find their satisfaction in proposals by Cedrimartini,

lub od Marac (całkowicie zakochałam się w tym wspaniałym złotym panelu w stylu chinoiserie),

or by Marac (I totally fell in love with this golden chinoiserie panel),

lub od Marchetti (te lampy!!!),

or by Marchetti (look at these light fixtures!!!),

lub od Davide Medri (tylko dla orłów – szaleństwo światła i żonglowanie formami),

or by Davide Medri (where eagles dare – craziness of light and juggling with forms).

Dość ciekawym zjawiskiem są meble-zabawki dla dorosłych. Wersję łagodną (drewno, pastele) przedstawiło Emporium.

A quite interesting idea is toy furniture for adults. The soft approach (pastels, wood) was presented by Emporium.

Wersja hard to zdecydowanie AltreForme (współpracują między innymi z Moschino, czego nie da się ukryć…). To tworzywa sztuczne, geometryczne wzory, ostre formy, mocne kolory. Bez wątpienia widzę tu nawiązania do klasyka awangardy w designie, czyli legendarnej grupy Memphis, z Ettore Sottsassem na czele. Prawda? Podoba mi się.

The hard approach belongs to AltreForme (they cooperate, among others, with Moschino, what is sooo obvious). The projects stand for plastics and other artificial materials, geometric patterns, sharp forms, bold colors. I think they are undoubtedly inspired by the legendary Memphis group led by Ettore Sottsass, right? I like it.

Serce boli, ale żegnaj iSaloni 2014. Zobaczymy się za rok, już odliczam dni. Przeglądam zdjęcia z inspiracjami i pomysłami, a sporo ich jest także – może nie wszyscy jeszcze widzieli / wiedzieli – na Instagramie, Facebooku oraz Twitterze. Tak, FORelements, jak design, jest wszędzie 😉

It breaks my heart but goodbye, iSaloni! We’ll meet in a year, I’m already counting (and eating, haha) the dates.
