Saska Kępa to wyjątkowe miejsce w Warszawie. Nie tylko dlatego, że mam stamtąd piękne wspomnienia z dzieciństwa i pół rodziny, ale także ze względu na jedyny w swoim rodzaju klimat. Ciekawa jest też historia tej części miasta, gdzie mniej więcej 400 lat temu powstała niderlandzka kolonia. To właśnie dzięki Holendrom i ich umiejętnościom melioracyjnym Warszawa może się do dziś cieszyć tym kawałkiem ziemi dosłownie wydartej Wiśle.

Ale o co mi właściwie chodzi? A o to, że chciałam obwieścić powrót Holendrów na Saską Kępę! Nie jest to wprawdzie grupa mennonitów-melioratorów, ale ambasada wspaniałego stylu holenderskiego, czyli BM Housing.

Saska Kępa is an exceptional place In Warsaw. Not only for my beautiful childhood memories and my family living there but also for its unique, one and only ambient. Even the history of this part of the city is interesting because about 400 years ago a Dutch colony settled there. It’s for the Dutchmen and their abilities of meliorating that Warsaw can enjoy the piece of a land, literally taken away from the Vistula river, until today.

Anyway, what I’m actually talking about? Well, I’m talking about the return of the Dutchmen to Saska Kępa. They’re surely not Mennonites and they do not meliorate but they established an embassy of the wonderful Dutch style in interiors, i.e. welcome to BM Housing.

Wszystkie kawałki tej układanki właściwie tworzą bardzo spójną całość: Saska Kępa to dawna siedziba Holendrów, obecnie chyba największe w Warszawie skupisko ambasad, a na dodatek jest też ostoją wspaniałych przykładów designu architektonicznego w postaci modernistycznych domów wpisanych na listę zabytków.

I właśnie design, ale współczesny i holenderski, będzie dziś tematem przewodnim. Pani Joanna Markus-Budnik, właścicielka BM Housing, gościła bowiem w swoim pięknym domu kilkadziesiąt osób zajmujących się designem (blogosfera, projektanci, dystrybutorzy, PRowcy i media, w tym „Label” oraz „iN Magazyn„), by zaprezentować marki holenderskie właśnie, których jest oficjalnym dystrybutorem: HK Living, Zuiver, It’s About Romi, Spell, Dark, Viso, Woood, Storebror oraz Knit Factory.

Zadaniem blogerów, pod przewodnictwem czterech autorów wybranych moodboardów, było stworzenie stylizacji z produktów powyższych firm. Ja byłam w teamie Magdy-Wnętrzarki, z którą stworzyłyśmy salon „intelektualisty na luzie”. Żeby nikt nie miał wątpliwości, co to za miejsce i kto je tak urządził, wystarczyło zerknąć do rozłożonego na stoliku „Label Magazine„, gdzie z Magdą figurujemy na jednej stronie 🙂

Na stronie obok są autorzy sąsiednich aranżacji: Damian z Damian Home robił jadalnię, Iza z Finch at Home zaś – altankę w stylu Edwarda Hoppera. Niestety, w salonowym szale twórczym nie zrobiłam zdjęć ich aranżacji. Ale mam Instagramowe zdjęcia naszej.

All pieces of the puzzle actually create a very coherent unity: Saska Kępa is a former Dutch hamlet and nowadays it’s a place of most embassies in Warsaw. Moreover, it’s an area where you can admire a lot of examples of amazing architectural design, of modernist houses which are listed as landmarked buildings.

So the today’s post is about design, modern and Dutch. Mrs. Joanna Markus-Budnik, the owner of BM Housing, invited to her beautiful house dozens of people occupied with design (bloggers, interior designers, retailers, PR and media, among other “Label Magazine” and “iN Magazyn”) to introduce Dutch companies she’s the official retailer of: HK Living, Zuiver, It’s About Romi, Spell, Dark, Viso, Woood, Storebror oraz Knit Factory.

The bloggers’ task was to create – under the leadership of four authors of chosen moodboards – arrangements, using products of the above mentioned companies. I was in Magda-Wnetrzarka’s team with whom I created a living room for “a totally relaxed intellectual”. To underline what kind of a place it is and who are the authors of the styling, we exposed a copy of „Label Magazine„, where me and Magda are featured on one page J

The next page features the authors of two other arrangements: Damian of Damian Home who created a dining area and Iza of Finch at Home who created a garden nook inspired by Edward Hopper’s paintings. Unfortunately, I was so excited and busy that I forgot to take pictures of their work. However, I have the Instagram mix of our styling.

Dom pani Joanny pełen był inspirujących przedmiotów – tych sprowadzonych specjalnie dla nas, i tych, które zdobią to miejsce na stałe.

The house of Joanna was filled with inspiring items – either these delivered especially for the event, or those which decorate the place permanently.

Ale, ale… Oprócz uczty dla ducha, była także uczta dla ciała. Matko, jakie to było dobre!!!

Last but not least… The soul was fed, so was the body. OMG, it tasted so good!!!

A poniższe kwiatki są dla Uli z Interiors Design (organizatorki całego przedsięwzięcia) oraz Małgosi Andryszczyk, która ciekawie opowiedziała o stylu holenderskim.

The flowers are for Ula of Interiors Design who had the idea to organize the event and for Małgosia Andryszczyk who gave us a lecture about the Dutch interior design style.

Na koniec dodam, że ta układanka jednak jest idealna, bo przecież wpisuje się w moją miłość do dwóch Holendrów: Rutgera Hauera (od lat wiernie go wielbię) oraz Marcela Wandersa (wielbię krócej, ale równie mocno).

A więc – jak by to powiedzieli wyżej wymienieni panowie – tot ziens!!!

Let me mention in conclusion that the puzzle is perfect indeed because it fits into my love for two Dutchmen: Rutger Hauer (whom I’ve been adoring for many years) and Marcel Wanders (whom I also adore, not so long however equally deeply).

So – as the two above mentioned gentlemen would say – tot ziens!!!
