Podkład muzyczny (Background music): The Doors – „I will Never Be Untrue”

„Label Magazine” to jedno z moich ulubionych pism z półki tak zwanych branżowych (pisany po polsku i angielsku). Numer czerwcowo-lipcowy (3 [9] / 2014) jednak wyjątkowo przypadł mi do gustu, ponieważ prezentuje FORelements!

Już wielki napis na okładce zapowiada „Blogerzy polecają: The Best of Design”. I jednym z tych blogerów jestem właśnie ja. Cieszę się bardzo, to prawdziwe wyróżnienie!

„Label Magazine” is one of my favourite titles on design and interiors (published in Polish and English). However, the June-July issue (3 [9 / 2014) is particularly close to my heart because FORelements has been featured there!

Big letters on the cover announce “Blogers recommend: The Best of Design”. And I am one of the very bloggers. I’m very happy, I feel honoured!

Trzeba było podjąć męską decyzję i z całego grona ulubionych designerów wybrać jednego jedynego. Oczywiście polecałam mojego ukochanego Marcela Wandersa i związane z nim studio Moooi. Nie mogłam też zapomnieć o wspaniałych kanapach Roche Bobois, które mną owładnęły całkowicie, szczególnie w Mediolanie, gdzie wreszcie miałam okazję nie tylko podziwiać je w katalogach, ale po prostu się na nich rozwalić i marzyć, że to moje. A jeśli jeszcze dorzucić do tego Missoni… Szał ciał i uprzęży!

My job was to select only one designer from all I like. Of course, I chose my fabulous Marcel Wanders and the Moooi studio he’s connected to. Moreover, I couldn’t forget about the wonderful Roche Bobois sofas; I totally fell in love with them in Milan where I had the opportunity to try them myself and not just see in a catalogue. I could stretch on one of them, pretending it was mine. Now, just add some Missoni here… Crazy!

Ukłonem w stronę ponadczasowej klasyki jest sympatia dla Hansa Wegnera i jego fotela Teddy, który szczególnie dobrze wygląda w nowojorskich loftach; nie wiem, o co chodzi, ale tak jest.

With a nod towards the timeless classic design I featured Hans Wegner and his Teddy armchair which looks really good in NY lofts. I have no idea why but that’s the fact.

W „Label Magazine” opowiadam, że szczególnie lubię etno i kolory, ale też amerykański glamour. Niestety z braku miejsca nie mogłam rozwinąć tego tematu, więc tutaj dodam, że wśród projektantów wnętrz moim absolutnym i niekwestionowanym numerem jeden jest fantastyczna Kathryn Ireland. Wydaje mi się, że jest naprawdę fajną osobą, bo przecież nikt o czarnym sercu nie urządziłby mieszkania, w którym tracę zmysły ze szczęścia. A Kathryn takie projekty ma!

I’m telling in the „Label Magazine” that I’m a huge fan of ethno and colors but also of the American glamour. I had to be short there so here, on FORelemens, I can explain more – my unquestionable Number One among interior designers is fantastic Kathryn Ireland. I guess she is a really nice person because if she wasn’t she wouldn’t be able to design interiors where I literally loose it!

Tuż za nią na podium stoi nonszalacki i jedyny w swoim rodzaju Martyn Lawrence Bullard, którego styl to glamour dżentelmena w podróży, i który zawsze wywołuje uśmiech na mojej twarzy.

Right behind Kathryn there is nonchalant and one and only Martyn Lawrence Bullard. His style is glamour of a travelling gentleman and he always makes me smile. Always.

Trzecie miejsce w mojej czołówce to Jonathan Adler. Też glamour, ale to przede wszystkim kolory i poczucie humoru, czasem ocierające się o kicz. Ale tym wypadku to komplement, bo takie żonglowanie wymaga umiejętności mistrza.

The third place belongs to Jonathan Adler. His design also stands for glamour but first of all it is full of colors and sense of humour, sometimes even kitschy. However here it should sound like a compliment since such juggling is for champions and masters only.

Podsumowując moje preferencje i krótko mówiąc, utknęłam w Ameryce; w Północnej z projektantami, w Południowej z upodobaniem.

Ech… Długo bym tak mogła. Kończę jednak, by dać Wam szansę na pójście do kiosku, kupienie „Label Magazine” i zanurzenie się w morzu dobrego designu. A każdy bloger pokazuje coś innego. Ciekawe…

To make a long story short and to sum things up: I stuck in America – in the North with designers and in the South with my likings and preferences.

Well… I could talk like that untill morning but now I’m going to stop and give you a chance to get a copy of „Label Magazine” to immerse in an ocean of good design. And each single blogger features something different. Interesting…
